Prepare for Birth as a Rite of Passage |
Many families value taking a childbirth class series while finding their way through the childbearing year. Partners who plan to take an active role during labor and birth especially benefit from focused time learning about comfort measures, labor etiquette, witnessing labor, and birth as a family event.

"This ancient map - the map of the Birth Warrior - is not a simplistic road map to achieving a perfect birth or any other specific outcome. Instead, it guides you across countless inner thresholds, over unforeseen hurdles, beyond your edge, and into the unknown and uncharted territory. This map shows you ways to keep going - and to find your way 'home' again."

Childbirth and Postpartum Classes with Britta Bushnell, PhDI recommend you and your birth partner(s) listen to her book, Transformed by Birth, together. Similar to material of an in-person Birthing from Within class, I recommend the audiobook in addition to other classes you take.
